Golden Egg Omelet House Now Reopened in Novato
Novato, CA — The Golden Egg Omelet House has reopened in Old Town Novato at 807 Grant Avenue. The restaurant, originally opened 34 years ago, is again serving home-style breakfasts and lunches to Marin residents. Jose Martinez, the restaurant’s head chef, has been cooking there for 24 years.
The Golden Egg Omelet House is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. It seats a total of 130, with patio seating available. The space may be rented for parties in the evenings, with catering featuring Indian or American food.
Since the restaurant’s reopening its food is even better than before, says owner Surinder “Pal” Sroa. Everything is now personally selected rather than delivered. “We don’t cut corners,” says Sroa. “We have improved the quality of our product, starting with the coffee. Our ingredients are fresh rather than frozen. We make our own salsas and our own hamburgers.”
Chef Martinez continues to cook his famous Corned Beef Hash from scratch. He is also known for his Gazpacho soup, and for cinnamon rolls that are baked on the premises. The Omelet House will soon be adding cappuccino machine. It has a full bar and is also known for mixing a great Bloody Mary.
In addition to the regular menu, the Omelet House will offer daily and monthly specials.
Sroa’s other restaurants include Anokha Cuisine, located next door to the Golden Egg Omelet House at 811 Grant Avenue, Lotus Cuisine in San Rafael, and Café Lotus in Fairfax. For more information call (415) 897-7707.
